I won my "WIlly Wonka" Golden Tickets into the Superleague 2018/19 Championship Series!!! Job done here in Poznan at the qualifier event and i'm Stoked! Here's how it played out...
Day 2 was the Enduro format, Meaning you take your standard swim/bike/run format & basically repeat, 3 times through, STRAIGHT BACK TO BACK! No rest! Yep that means a 1.6km top end run, running through transiton to swap your run shoes for a swim gap before diving back into the water to start your 2nd & 3rd Triathlon super sprint! BY the end, winner takes all, so its down to everything (or anything?) you've got left to race to the finish & take top points in the 2nd day of the series!!
I wanted to play to my strengths early & use my strong swim/bike to pull away from the field & establish a gap early, extending my lead on the first run, feeling pretty awesome with that extra spring in my step that leading a race can give, its an awesome adrenaline rush! It was fun having to tactically think a little more when it came to transitions too, with the added element of not being able to reset up your gear- swim/bike/run between races, i tried to leave my bike or runners in the best possible set up for the next triathlons leg.
Heading straight out onto the second race, keeping the pressure on again swim & bike, hoping it would play into my hands allowing me to "enjoy" the final run stage & not have to empty the tank on the last run as i have plenty of racing coming up. Soaking it up on the final run stage, knowing i've secured my golden onto the Superleague Team again for the upcoming 2018/19 Championship Series!!!
Enjoying a fun night celebrating with the family of Superleague staff out in Poznan, getting to see another side to the city!
Next stop Tizzy World Cup in Hungary!
