I was set on getting my contract back for the Superleague 2018/19 Championship Series, with 2 options to earn yourself one of "WIlly Wonka's" Golden Tickets into the Series, here in Poznan Poland or later in Penticton Canada in August.

Having raced the first Women's Superleague Event ever in Jersey back in September 2017, i had an idea of what i was in for- FAST< FURIOUS & BRUTAL RACING, but Oh so much FUN!! I love this style of racing, hard from the start & no room for error, the pace is on & you have to bring your A game, physically mentally & tactically! Superleague really showcases how diverse we are as athletes & how hard this sport is!

Day 1 of 2 full days racing was the Triple Mix format! Meaning you take the traditional swim/bike/run format & throw it out the door! It's so much fun as everyone enters the unknown. Starting with a swim, bike, run. Having 10mins break between the next race to reset up transition, refuel & get ready to hit it again. Going off in a pursuit style for the remaining 2 races depending on the accumulative time you finished behind the leader in the race prior! Race 2 is the reverse- Run/Bike/swim- where your legs really feel like sinking jelly diving into the swim, before a run to the finish for stage 2, taking your individual 10 mins rest before kicking off the last race! Bike/swim/run!  Everything you've got left to race to the finish & take top points in the 2 day qualifier for the series!!

I was able to capitalise early on my strong swim &  bjike leg to pull away from the field & cause gaps early to establish, keeping athletes under pressure & trying to minimise the top end effort i was exerting myself, knowing in the back of my  mind we still have a full day of racing on the following day to get through. finishing the first race with a 30 second lead allowed me to Time trial the remaining racing & extend my gap out while keeping the pace on form the front end!

The race played out pretty perfectly to plan & i was able to shut down the race by the time we got to the last race ending on the run, soaking up the Superleague event vibes & crowd as i headed to take the tape! That feeling never gets old- onto day 2!! Bring it on- The ENDURO format!
