The SUPERLEAGUE TRIATHLON (SLT) JERSEY ENDURO - THE HUINGER GAMES of SLT!!

The Enduro consists of 3 Rounds of Triathlons, WITH NO BREAKS

as follows;

Race start: - 300m swim- 4km Bike- 2km Run- 300m swim- 4km Bike- 2km Run- 300m swim- 4km Bike- 2km Run- WINNER = 1st across that finish line!

But as if that wasn’t “Superleague level” tough enough, the team wanted to make it more interesting, by eliminating the bottom 2 athletes at the back of the race at the end of every discipline: swim, bike or run!

With the 90 sec cut off rule still in play … taking any additional athletes out of the race if they fell outside the cut off window!

Ultimately the call was made so that there would be some athletes left in the race by the 3rd round through, that if the race got down to only 6 remaining athletes then the eliminations would stop of the bottom 2! Make sense? … yeah it took me a while to get my head around it too!

I had recovered really well after day 1 and my body felt as ready as it could be to back up for day 2’s ENDURO, more my natural style of diesel engine racing- go & go & go!

Another afternoon race start made for a “relaxing” day trying to pass the time, which was almost refreshing after our amazing week leading up to the racing which saw up out on the ocean speed boating, Stand UP paddling, exploring the island and ST Hellier town center, and getting involved with the Jersey Island community with a range of events and media!

The race kicked off with a bang and no surprises the pace was RED HOT again!! Getting out of the 300m swim on Sophie Coldwell’s feet again and getting off onto the bike with a little lead pack of 5 of us, riding hard to split the race up straight from the start! On the first run i fell just slightly off the pace but was able to make up that time to the main pack in the swim, but Katie Zaeres and Kirsten Kasper had put down a gap on the group! This extended on the second bike with my chase pack of 4 hunting them down on the run, including Gerorgia Taylor Brown, Cassandra Beaugrand, Summer Cook and Vicky Holland! Losing a little more time to the leaders on the 2nd run i was hanging in the final 10 ladies left, and knew i had to push hard in the final swim to make up ground, getting up onto Sophie Coldwell’s hip and swimming past Jo Brown and Ash Gentle i was able to hang in there for one last bike leg! Riding around with Sophie Coldwell, we were both clearly at the back of the final 8 girls and knew we would fall victim to the last elimination at the end of this leg!

Dismounting all smiles as we exited the race in 7th & 8th, only 1 run short after 2 days of FAST & FURIOUS racing. It was epic to see the girls being aggressive out there & taking control from the front! I absolutely love this fun short sharp racing!

What an exciting weekend of racing!!! And the numbers don’t lie, broadcast out to over 380 million people WORLDWIDE!!! WOW!

I already can’t wait for round 2 & 3 in 4 weeks time in the Island Paradise of Malta & Mallorca!!
