Lets start with G’day, I’m Emma Jeffcoat, and I am South Melbourne Physio’s first ever ambassador!
You may have seen the recent teasers on SMP socials, or heard it on the grape vine over a St Ali brew, or seen me rolling down beach road in fresh SMP kit, and I’m thrilled to confirm that exciting news!
Who am I & What do I do?
I am a professional triathlete, and Australian Olympian, competing at Tokyo 2020 Olympics in the Women’s Individual Triathlon (26th) & Mixed Team Relay debut (9th). I race for Australia in the World Triathlon Championship Series & have numerous World Cup wins to my name.
I grew up in Collaroy on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, & am the eldest sibling of 4 & mum to my 32 year old horse Cherokee. In 2020 I flew the coup relocating to Melbourne to pursue my triathlon goals.
I am a registered Nurse & whilst this has taken a back seat for now, I have a passion for emergency & critical care.
I am daring, driven, competitive, adventurous & stubborn. I pride myself in hard work, dedication, humility & persistence, standing alongside my motto; Dare to Dream!
Why have SMP & I partnered?
To put it simply, its just that- our shared why! At SMP the team & I align strongly with the same passion for improving the lives of those around us through physical activity & challenging people to be the best they can be.
It’s refreshing working with like minded people at SMP who share the same core values of self care, community, adventure & excellence, both personally & professionally.
I want to be an inspirational role model for our clients at the clinic & our wider community network.
SMP as a business will provide me the essential ongoing financial & service provision support that assists me in achieving my goals as a person & an athlete.
What can you expect?
Whilst in Melbourne you’ll find me on the SMP weekly Thursday shop ride (6am sharp depart from the clinic, be there or be square), encouraging female participation in cycling especially but across all sports. I’ll be speaking at community events & schools & will be around the clinic keeping my body in order with my team.
Make sure to look out for website blog updates on my latest race reports, training, major benchmark event preparations, & personal experience of injuries, rehab & general athlete/ life challenges.
Thank you to Andy Kantor & the team at SMP for the warm welcome. You have felt like a family these past 2 years in Melbourne & I’m so grateful for the continued support in helping me to achieve my goals surrounded by care, community, hard work & adventure on 2 wheels or 2 feet.
Dare to dream BIG!
Let’s see what we can do together, I’m excited!
